Hoc Habet is sinds 1966 de Eindhovense studenten schermvereniging. We trainen op dinsdagavond in het studentensportcentrum. Twee keer per jaar geven we een beginnerscursus, maar als je wilt proberen hoe het is om te schermen, kun je altijd binnenlopen tijdens de training. Het enige wat je nodig hebt zijn een sportkaart en sportkleren, het liefst met een lange broek. Schermkleding en -benodigheden worden door het sportcentrum verzorgd!

Hoc Habet is een kleine vereniging waar je zowel recreatief kunt schermen als kunt deelnemen aan toernooien. De trainingen bij Hoc Habet vinden plaats onder begeleiding van een officiële maître d'escrime. Tijdens de training wordt aandacht besteed aan de vele technieken, aanvallen, weringen en het voetenwerk met aandacht voor de fijne motoriek en de wedstrijdtactiek.

Activiteiten
Bij Hoc Habet wordt er niet alleen maar getraind: er vindt ook een laddercompetitie plaats en er worden interne toernooitjes gehouden. Ook wordt er deelgenomen aan verschillende toernooien en worden er uitwisselingen met andere (studenten)schermverenigingen georganiseerd. Daarnaast organiseert Hoc Habet een eigen internationaal toernooi in oktober. En natuurlijk is er veel gezelligheid: er vinden regelmatig activiteiten als borrels, etentjes, video-avonden, barbecues en dergelijke plaats.

Kortom: de inspanning van een individuele sport, gecombineerd met de gezelligheid van een teamsport!

Hoc Habet has been the student fencing club in Eindhoven since 1966. It is a small club where you can fence for fun as well as play tournaments. The training is led by an official maître d'escrime. During training, attention is paid to the many techniques, attacks, defenses and the footwork, keeping in eye the fine skills and match tactics.

A beginners' course is given twice a year and when the participant has succesfully completed the course a certificate is awarded. Alternatively, you can just pop in in during the start of the training and see for yourself how much fun fencing is. To join, all you need is a sports card from the student sports centre, indoor sportshoes and some simple sports clothing. Fencing equipment will be provided by the sports centre. Whether you are for a short or a long period around in Eindhoven, Hoc Habet provides a good base for learning fencing and an ideal way getting in touch with the Dutch and their culture.

Besides training with Hoc Habet, you can fence for the ladder competition, participate in internal and external tournaments or exchanges with other (student) fencing clubs. Furthermore, Hoc Habet organises it's own international tournament in October, and last but not least there are a lot of social activities like get-togethers, dinners, video-evenings, and barbecues. joshuaviolet: Die Hard is the movie franchise that made a movie star out of TV star Bruce Willis, and created an entire action-movie genre of its own. In the original 1988 film, Willis plays wisecracking New York cop John McClane, who arrives at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles to meet up with his estranged wife, Holly (Bonny Bedelia), at her office Christmas party. As luck would have it, the company ends up in the middle of a terrorist plot led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) and his gang of expert killers, and with little help coming from outside, McClane has to pick off his enemies one by one. Thus was born the "Die Hard genre," epitomized by such films as Under Siege ("Die Hard on a ship"), Passenger 57 ("Die Hard on a plane"), Speed ("Die Hard on a bus"), and Cliffhanger ("Die Hard on a mountain"). But few measure up to the explosive brilliance of Die Hard. Director John McTiernan develops the action at a fast and furious pace, culminating in some fantastic set-pieces on the top of the building, in the elevator shaft, and in the building's outer plaza. Jeb Stuart and Steven E. de Souza's script, based on Roderick Thorp's novel Nothing Lasts Forever, is smart, funny, and full of memorable lines (among them "Welcome to the party, pal!" and of course "Yippee ki-ay, motherf*****"), and the cast is perfection, especially Rickman as the cunningly evil villain, and Willis, whose McClane character--bloodied, beaten, bruised, and barely breathing, as he battles both bad guys and bureaucrats--is someone audiences could genuinely cheer for. I very LIKE this movie. I suggest u have to watch it :) if you never watch i suggest Die Hard CollectionAmazon
